St. Luke's Hospital, Malta

The hospital's foundation was laid on 5 April 1930 by the Governor of Malta, John Du Cane, in the presence of then Prime Minister, Gerald Strickland.

[1] Progress in the construction of the hospital was slow due to technical difficulties encountered.

[2] In 1941, the main block was converted into an isolation hospital for infectious diseases.

The hospital building is included in the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands.

[2] The Hospital served students attending Medical and Health Sciences courses within the University of Malta.
