Staufferia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Santalaceae.
[1] It just contains one species, Staufferia capuronii Z.S.Rogers, Nickrent & Malécot [1] It is native to Madagascar.
[1] The genus name of Staufferia is in honour of Hans Ulrich Stauffer (1929–1965), a Swiss botanist who traveled in South Africa, Australia and New Guinea; specialist in Santalaceae.
[2] The Latin specific epithet of capuronii is in honor of the French botanist René Capuron.
