Steinar Gudmund Ness (born 10 February 1959) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party.
[1] He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Sogn og Fjordane during the terms 1981–1985 and 1985–1989.
In 1989, when Syse's Cabinet assumed office, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment.
From 1997 to 1999, under the Bondevik's First Cabinet, he was a political adviser in the Ministry of Culture.
