This is a list of submissions to the 77th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.

[1] The award is handed out annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue.

[4] The submissions from Colombia, Hong Kong and Ukraine were rejected before the formal review process, but Colombia submitted another film as a replacement.

[5][6] The Academy released a list of the five nominees for the award on January 25, 2005.

[7] Spain won the award for the fourth time with The Sea Inside by Alejandro Amenabar.
