The single contained two B-sides, "Boku ga Tsuki ni Inoru Yoru" and "One", the latter of which became popular enough to be placed on their first compilation album Lead Tracks: Listener's Choice.
The single carried two coupling tracks on both the standard CD and limited CD+DVD edition, "Boku ga Tsuki ni Inoru Yoru" (僕が月に祈る夜 / The Night I Prayed to the Moon) and "One".
"Summer Madness" was written by musical composers Yasunori Tanaka and Nice Hashimoto, the latter who has worked with Japanese boy band SMAP and who wrote the lyrics for the track.
[6] "Boku ga Tsuki ni Inoru Yoru" was written and composed by Yosuke Kobayashi,[7] who had previously worked with the group for their song "High Time", while lyricist yury wrote the lyrical portion.
[12] "Summer Madness" became Lead's third single to be released both as a standard CD and a CD+DVD combo, the priors being "Night Deluxe" (2004)[13] and "Baby Runnin' Wild" (2005).
