It was built in 1967 and actively functions as a small mosque and Islamic center.
The surau was established in the 1960s by the residents of Kampong Lorong Buangkok.
[2] The surau was intended as a place of prayer for the Malay Muslim families living in the village.
[1][3] The present surau is a wooden structure with a zinc roof, as is the case with other houses in the village.
[4][5] A metal pole attached to the roof bears a crescent and star symbol.
