Swainsona burkei

Swainsona burkei is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to northern Australia.

It is a prostrate or perennial subshrub with imparipinnate leaves usually with 5 to 11 oblong to narrowly egg-shaped leaflets, and racemes of 5 to 10 purple flowers.

Swainsona burkei is a prostrate or perennial subshrub that typically grows to a height of 30–40 cm (12–16 in) with many slender stems arising from its base.

[2] Swainsona burkei was first formally described in 1864 by George Bentham in Flora Australiensis from an unpublished description of Ferdinand von Mueller.

[3][4] This species of swainsona grows in grassland and woodland in the central parts of the Northern Territory and in western Queensland.
