Szakoly is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary.

Szakoly was annexed to Romania for a year, only to return to Hungary again after the Trianon peace dictatorship in World War II.
Hungary's first greenfield biomass power plant was built here, with a production capacity of 19.8 MW.
