Tarneit West station is proposed to be located east of Davis Road, and is planned to be opened in 2026.

[1][2] Funding was committed to build the station following the Andrews Labor state government's re-election at the 2022 Victorian state election,[3][4] with site investigation works beginning on 25 March 2024.

[6][7] Community consultation also started for the station's name and early designs.

The project will be delivered by the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority's Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) team.
