She played college ice hockey at Minnesota where she won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2022.
She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team.
Heise attended Red Wing High School where she was a four-time USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA honoree.
[6] During the 2021–22 season in her senior year, she led the NCAA in scoring with 66 points on 29 goals and 37 assists in 39 games.

[20] On January 3, 2024, Heise scored her first career goal, unassisted, in PWHL Minnesota's first game.
[24][25] Heise represented the United States at the 2016 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship, where she recorded two goals and one assist in five games and won a gold medal.
She represented the United States at the 2017 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship, where she recorded one assist in five games and won a gold medal.
[28] On August 14, 2022, she was named to the roster for the United States at the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship.
[29] She led the tournament in scoring with seven goals and 11 assists in seven games to help team USA win a silver medal.
