He was a professor emeritus at the Tbilisi Ivane Sarajishvili State Conservatoire from 1960 to his death in 2013.

[1][2] Amirejibi received the title of Peoples’ artist of Georgia in 1961.

[3] The Tengiz Amirejibi Borjomi International piano Competition was founded in 2015.

[4] A founder and an artistic director of the Competition is a renowned Georgian pianist Tamar Licheli.

Jury members of the competition throughout the years were such world renowned, famous musicians like Liana Isakadze, Alexander Korsantia, Sergei Babayan, Miwa Hoyano and others.
