The Bamboo Stalk (Arabic: ساق البامبو) is a novel by Kuwaiti writer Saud Alsanousi,[1][2] for which he won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (known as the Arabic Booker Prize) in 2013.
[3][4][5] The novel is set between the Philippines and Kuwait and explores various historical, political, and religious issues.
[6] In 2016, a Kuwaiti TV series based on the novel, titled "The Bamboo Stalk", was produced.
[7] The novel has been translated into English,[8] Italian, Persian,[9] Turkish,[10] Chinese, Korean,[11] Romanian, Kurdish,[12] Macedonian, Filipino,[13] Somali,[14] Croatian,[15] Malayalam,[16] and Indonesian.
