The Spooky Movie Film Festival) was an internationally recognized showcase for independent and underground filmmakers of the horror, science fiction and fantasy genres.
Started in 2006 the festival was one of the largest annual events for horror film fans in the Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia area.
At the time of the announcement of the 2020 dates, the festival's website posted the following: "Spooky Movie will be taking 2021 off.
The previous fifteen editions of the festival included the local premiere screenings of TUCKER AND DALE VS.
