Theresienwiese is an open space in the Munich borough of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt.
A space of 420,000 square metres (4,500,000 sq ft),[1] it is bordered in the west by the Ruhmeshalle and the Bavaria statue, symbolizing the State of Bavaria, and in the east by Esperantoplatz, a square named for the international language Esperanto.
Bavariaring, an orbital road, provides access to visiting traffic.
Every year in April, one of Germany's largest flea markets is also held there.
The site is located south west of the city centre.
