Akron Township, Michigan

Survey township 15N, on the shores of Saginaw Bay, is a partial township consisting of thirteen full 1 square mile (2.6 km2) sections and eleven partial sections, with the remainder lying under water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,589 people, 602 households, and 441 families residing in the township.

There were 767 housing units at an average density of 14.5 per square mile (5.6/km2).

There were 602 households, out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.6% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families.

23.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
