Thomas Lee Neville was a guard in the National Football League.
[1] In 1998, Neville's life turned for the worse, and he began to engage in behavior his family members described as "bizarre".
[3] Neville's death was one of the factors that motivated his former Green Bay Packers teammate Ken Ruettgers to help establish GamesOver.org, a foundation which seeks to help professional athletes adjust to retirement.
[4] The last week of Neville's life came as a shock to many who had known him through the years, one of whom described him as "a big, gentle bear".
His funeral service was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he worked managing real estate and coaching high school football teams.
