Carunculina cylindrellus (Lea, 1868) Toxolasma cylindrellus, the pale lilliput naiad, pale lilliput pearly mussel, or pale lilliput, is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels.
[3] This species is endemic to the United States.
It has experienced a great range reduction and is currently found only in the Paint Rock River drainage in northern Alabama and southeastern Tennessee.
[4] The most recent surveys failed to find this species in the Tennessee portion of the drainage.
[citation needed] The pale lilliput has been listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973 since 1976.
