Born in Sugar Land, Texas, he graduated from Kempner High School.
[1] He signed with the Detroit Lions in 1997 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1998 and in both cases he was cut at the end of training camp, but then later made their practice squads.
[2] In 1999, he played in the NFL Europe for the Berlin Thunder and was then signed by the New York Giants.
He spent much of the season on the practice squad, but was elevated for two games, recording a tackle while wearing jersey #29.
