Unlike the other Arkansas congressional districts, the 3rd has long had a Republican representative.

Organizations Tom Cotton Republican Bruce Westerman Republican Incumbent Republican Tom Cotton, who had represented the district since 2013, announced he will not run for election to a second term in order to challenge Democratic incumbent Mark Pryor for his U.S. Senate seat.
