Uppingham Rural District

Uppingham was a rural district in Rutland, England from 1894 to 1974, covering the south of the county.

The rural district was abolished in 1974 by the Local Government Act 1972.

Uppingham RD was merged with three other authorities to become the non-metropolitan district of Rutland.

[2] The rural district consisted of twenty civil parishes:[2] In its early years, the council met at the Uppingham Union Workhouse on Leicester Road.

[3][4] The council later established its own offices and meeting place at 14 Orange Street in Uppingham.
