[14] On 27 January 2018, during the fourth match day of the Clausura 2018 against Tigres UANL, Guzmán suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that caused him to be sidelined for six months, missing out on the rest of the tournament and the chance to be called up by Mexico to play at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
