[2][3] Eminata established VCAD and began recruiting students in February 2009.

It officially opened in April of that year in an office building on 1111 Melville Street in Vancouver.

The college shared the building with University Canada West which at the time was also owned by Eminata.

In September 2010 the VCAD campus relocated to its present site, the London Building on 626 Pender Street where it occupies several floors.

It is also on the Ministry's registry of Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designated institutions.
