Vawter Park is an unincorporated area[1] of shoreline and nearby neighborhoods located on the south shore of Lake Wawasee, Indiana, United States.
A biological research station operated by Indiana University was active just north of Vawter Park Village.
It was a 2-story, 60-room building with a large central semi-circular veranda facing the lake with wings off to both sides.
During the 1950s and early 1960s, the hotel attracted visitors and patrons with a water ski jumping show.
The South Shore Inn caught fire in the early morning hours of October 29, 1964.
