Record attendance at Vejlby Stadium occurred on 7 September 1978, when IK Skovbakken faced local rivals AGF in the Danish Superliga, then called 1st Division.
To accommodate the club and its fans, Vejlby Stadium will undergo significant renovations, including the addition of mobile stands, increasing the capacity to 12,000 spectators.
AGF has raised DKK 43 million through a stock issuance to cover part of the costs, though final funding arrangements for the entire redevelopment are still being discussed by city authorities.
A hybrid grass surface, preferred by AGF for its compatibility with their playing style, will likely be installed during the renovations.
Security and fan management systems, similar to those in place at AGF's current home, Ceres Park, will also be implemented to ensure safety during matches.
