Veliko Lipje

Veliko Lipje (pronounced [ˈʋeːlikɔ ˈliːpjɛ]; German: Großliplach[2]) is a village in the Municipality of Žužemberk in southeastern Slovenia.

The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola.

The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

The name is derived from a demonym (originally plural, *Lipľane 'residents of Lipa'), ultimately from the common noun lipa 'linden', referring to the local vegetation.

[4] The local church is dedicated to Saint Martin and belongs to the Parish of Hinje.
