Vicki L. Chandler is a plant geneticist and member of the National Science Board.
[1] While working as a secretary, she began attending Foothill College with the intention of studying marine biology.
[2] She completed a PhD in biochemistry at the University of California San Francisco in 1983[3] with Keith Yamamoto.
[2] She then moved to Stanford University, where she did a postdoctoral fellowship in genetics in the lab of Virginia Walbot.
[5] Before joining the Keck Graduate Institute in 2015,[7] she was the Chief Program Officer for Science for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, beginning in 2009.
