WHIZ-TV (channel 18) is a television station in Zanesville, Ohio, United States, affiliated with NBC, Fox and MyNetworkTV.
[4] On April 20, 2022, it was announced that Salisbury, Maryland–based Marquee Broadcasting would acquire WHIZ-TV and its sister radio stations for $10.7 million;[1] the sale was completed on July 15.
[5] On October 24, 2022, the station announced that its second subchannel would affiliate with Fox on November 14, replacing WSYX-DT3 from Columbus on local cable and satellite systems, six days before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
[6] WSYX's main ABC channel continues to be carried on area cable systems, along with CBS affiliates WBNS-TV from Columbus and WIYE-LD from Parkersburg, West Virginia.
The station's signal is multiplexed: WHIZ is seen on cable systems in several adjacent counties, including Coshocton, Guernsey, Hocking, Licking, Morgan and Perry.
The WHIZ Media Group operated WCVZ ("Highway 102") prior to its replacement by what is now WKVR ("K-Love"); it continues to hold WKVR's license, even though that station moved from Zanesville to the Columbus market in 2009 and is operated by the Educational Media Foundation through a local marketing agreement.
