Bob Etheridge owned WLLN when it signed on Monday, February 12, 1979 at 11:00 AM with "Music Box Dancer" by Frank Mills as the only radio station in Lillington.

The new station manager was Charles Fowler, who had been a top salesman of commercial advertising at WPYB in Benson.

Fowler left WLLN in October 1987 to purchase WCKB in Dunn, which he owns as of this writing in May 2010.
