Wabasso, Minnesota

Wabasso (/wəˈbæsoʊ/) is a city in Redwood County, Minnesota, United States.

[5] Wabasso is a name derived from ‘waabooz’ (IPA: [waːbʊːs]), the Ojibwe word for “snowshoe hare” or more generally "rabbit".

[7] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.86 square miles (2.23 km2), all land.

32.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

As of the census Archived 2015-04-11 at the Wayback Machine[3] of 2000, there were 643 people, 271 households, and 178 families living in the city.

Wabasso Public School (K-12) St. Anne's School (Catholic K-6) Knowledge Bowl In 2018 the Wabasso Knowledge Bowl team, nicknamed the Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog in reference to the Monty Python and the Holy Grail character, went to the State Competition, making them the worst school in the state to ever do so.
