Walton, Kentucky

Walton is a home rule-class city in Boone and Kenton counties in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Walton has a total area of 4.3 square miles (11.1 km2), of which 0.019 square miles (0.05 km2), or 0.41%, is water.

[6] As of the census[9] of 2000, there were 2,450 people, 913 households, and 665 families residing in the city.

There were 913 households, out of which 41.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 14.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.1% were non-families.

23.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The majority of the city of Walton (the portion in Boone County) is part of the Walton-Verona Independent Schools.

The elementary school houses about 500 students, and serves preschool through fourth grade.
