Warner's Grant, Vermont

[1] In Vermont, gores and grants are unincorporated portions of a county which are not part of any town and have limited self-government (if any, as many are uninhabited).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the grant has a total area of 3.15 square miles (8.15 km2), all land.

While the name's origin, honoring Seth Warner, is clear, the charter does nothing to specify precise usage.

State Papers of Vermont, Volume One: Index to the Papers of the Surveyors-General (VT Secretary of State, 1918) lists it as "Warner's Grant or Warner's Gore" (p. 154).

The Gazetteer of Caledonia and Essex Counties, VT, 1764-1887 (Hamilton Child, 1887) lists the name as Warner's Grant (p. 490).
