According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 0.69 square miles (1.8 km2), all land.

As of the 2000 census,[5] there were 1,434 people, 628 households, and 396 families residing in the township.

There were 667 housing units at an average density of 920.1 per square mile (355.3/km2).

Out of all of the households that were documented, 32.2% were made up of individuals, and 11.9% had someone living alone who was sixty-five years of age or older.

For every one hundred females who were aged eighteen or older, there were 78.7 males.
