William Hehir

William Hehir (18 January 1887 – 15 October 1972) was a British track and field athlete who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics in racewalking events.

[1] Hehir was born in Lisdoonvarna in County Clare, Ireland, but was associated with the Surrey Walking Club.

[3][4][5] After the war, Hehir finally became the National 7 miles walk champion after winning the title at the 1919 AAA Championships.

[6][7] In 1920 Hehir finished second behind Charles Dowson in both the 2 and 7 miles walk events at the 1920 AAA Championships.

[1] The following year,he finished second behind Harold Ross in the 7 miles walk event at the 1921 AAA Championships.
