William Henry Battle

[citation needed] Battle went on to attend St. Thomas' Medical School in London, England starting in 1873.

He joined the British Medical Association in 1886 and eventually became honorary secretary of the section of surgery.

From 1889 to 1890 he held the title of Hunterian Professor of Surgery and Pathology at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

In 1881 he was appointed Assistsnr Surgeon to St Thomas' Hospital whilst retaining Assistant Surgeoncy at the Royal Free.

His father held a good position in Lincoln, where he was an alderman and served as mayor of the city.
