William Quarrier Kennedy FRS FRSE FGS (30 November 1903 – 13 March 1979) was a Scottish geologist.
From 1928 Kennedy worked on the Geological Survey of Great Britain under John Horne and Ben Peach.
In 1946 he was the first to deduce the major horizontal shift in the Great Glen Fault.
[4] He retired in 1967 and died at 2 Stone Rings Lane in Harrogate on 13 March 1979.
In 1933 he married Elizabeth Jane Lawson McCubbin, having three children: Elspeth (b.
