William Shirley Mathews

He served as the Osage Nation treasurer between 1882 and 1886, chief justice between 1890 and 1892, and prosecuting attorney between 1894 and 1896, as well as on the tribal council from 1910 and 1912.

Afterward he worked as a banker and merchant, buying a gristmill built by the United States and operating it until 1903.
