Wolves of the Drina

Wolves from the Drina, (Serbian Cyrillic: Вукови са Дрине, Vukovi sa Drine) was an elite Special police unit, a part of the Army of Republika Srpska’s detachment “Drina corps”, as well as a part of the “1st Zvornik Infantry Brigade” which was a battalion of the Drina Corps.

[1] The Wolves from the Drina unit was formed in Zvornik on May 25, 1992, followed by the Start of the Bosnian War.

Captain Mile Stanošević was the head commander of the unit, until he was killed in action during an operation near Vitinica, after Stanošević‘s death, Milan Jolović became the commander of the unit.

[1] During the Siege of Srebrenica in 1995, an offensive had been launched by the Army of Republika Srpska.

The elite 28th “Muslim” Brigade in Srebrenica had been “obliterated” by the Wolves from the Drina unit.
