In the late 2010s, Volvo announced its ambition to create a new experience center located in central Gothenburg.

[2][better source needed] World of Volvo is constructed with wood and glass atop a parking garage.

The building, which covers 22,000 square meters, was designed by the Danish architecture firm Henning Larsen.

The parking garage has 1,500 spaces and is owned by Göteborgs Stads Parkering AB.

Additionally, the building features a conference center on the top floor, two restaurants, a Volvo lounge, a Volvo shop, rooftop terraces, and a hall for art or car exhibitions.
