[2][3] In March 2009, he was transferred to the position of director of the Fund Supervision Department.

In November 2010, he was named acting governor of Hongkou District in Shanghai, confirmed in January 2011.

In July 2013, he rose to become party secretary, the top political position in the district.

In May 2016, he was appointed president and party secretary of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, a position at vice-ministerial level.
