Xiamen Botanical Gardens

Xiamen Botanical Garden (XMBG) founded in 1960, is located in the Siming District of Xiamen Island, covering an area of 493 hectares.

Over 9,000 species of plants are preserved in its living collections.

[1] It is classified as a AAAAA scenic area by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

[3] On February 10, 1984, Deng Xiaoping planted a camphor tree in the Araucaria lawn area of the garden.

[4][5] Additionally the garden has a Palm Plant Conservation Center, a biotechnology laboratory, a succulent plant laboratory, and a herbarium.
