Zirku Island (Persian: زركوه) is an island in the Persian Gulf about 87 miles (140 km) northwest of the city of Abu Dhabi and belongs to United Arab Emirates.
Today there are oil refining facilities, a petroleum terminal and an airport on the island.
It begins to rise gradually at its southern tip and ends at a summit 450 feet high.
The island has no water or trees, but it has some small desert grasses and shrubs.
[4] The weather in Zirku Island is typical of a desert climate with hot summers and mild winters.
