Čreta, Vransko

Čreta (pronounced [ˈtʃɾeːta]) is a small settlement in the Municipality of Vransko in central Slovenia.

The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.

One is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and dates to the 15th century with 16th- and 18th-century extensions.

The second is dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria and was built in the 15th century.
