Alberton is a rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Dorset in the North-east LGA region of Tasmania.
The locality is about 37 kilometres (23 mi) south-east of the town of Scottsdale.
It is believed to have been named after Prince Albert, who visited Tasmania in the 1860s.
[2] The Dorset River rises in the south and flows through to the north.
[3] Route C423 (Mathinna Plains Road) runs along part of the western boundary.
