She initially sailed to Asia and India under a licence from the British East India Company, and was the first vessel to formally to receive such a licence.
She then sailed between London and the Cape of Good Hope.
[1] In 1813 the EIC had lost its monopoly on the trade between India and Britain.
British ships were then free to sail to India or the Indian Ocean under a licence from the EIC.
[5] On 17 October she was at Madeira, and two days after she sailed for Batavia.
