[9][10] An updated fully-functional version of the Alpenglow, now named the Alpenglow Hy4, was unveiled on 13 May 2024 at the 2024 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps; it is described by Alpine as a "rolling lab designed as a racing car".
The car is expected to make a number of demo runs at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans.
[11][12] In its initial specification, the Alpenglow has a V8 engine running on a dihydrogen fuel cell designed by the British company Gibson Technology.
The fully-functional Alpenglow Hy4 is powered by a 2.0 L turbocharged I4 developing 340 hp.
