Anne Pride (July 29, 1942 – April 24, 1990) was a National Organization for Women (NOW) activist and publisher.
Pride helped found one of the first rape crisis centers in the United States and was involved in protecting the privacy of her clients.
[9] In 1980, Pride refused to give client interview notes to the defense attorney during a rape trial, citing confidentiality concerns.
[9] The court case led to the creation of legislation in Pennsylvania which would ensure confidentiality for rape victims and counselors at crisis centers.
[1] She married Edwin Kurlfink at the age of 16, but even before her separation and divorce, wanted to change her name back to Huggett, her family name.
