Arthur Masterman

Arthur Thomas Masterman (9 April 1869 – 10 February 1941) was an English zoologist and author.

He was born on 9 April 1869 the son of Thomas W. Masterman of Rotherfield Hall in Sussex.

He then won a scholarship to Christ's College, Cambridge studying under Sir Arthur Shipley.

[1] After graduating he obtained a post assisting at the University of St Andrews and in 1900 became a lecturer in natural history.

He helped to establish the Gatty Marine Laboratory with his senior colleague, William Carmichael McIntosh.
