The city of Lester Prairie, a separate municipality, is in the northeast part of the township.
The center of the township is 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Glencoe, the county seat.
As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 881 people, 297 households, and 237 families residing in the township.
The racial makeup of the township was 96.37% White, 0.23% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 3.06% from other races.
14.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
