Guaramacal salamander

[1][3] The Venezuelan specimen first reported as Bolitoglossa savagei likely represents this species.

The species is named after its type locality, Guaramacal in the Trujillo.

The dorsum is heavily pigmented, with paler reddish orange or pale yellow blotches or longitudinal streaks.

[2] The species' natural habitat are cloud forests at elevations of 1,800–2,400 m (5,900–7,900 ft) above sea level.
