Bomet District was an administrative district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya.
The district has a population of 382,794 (1999 census) and an area of 1,882 km2.
[3] In 2010, after the promulgation of the new constitution of Kenya, counties were to be created based on the districts of Kenya as at 1992.
This effectively led to the creation of Bomet County.
